Ibis is hull #2 in the highly successful New York 30 class. Originally there were 18 of these boats designed and built for members of the New York Yacht Club during the winter of 1904. All of these boats were presented to their new owners completely equipped including sails, a working galley and a special set of china commemorating the New York 30. The revival of the fleet is very active. This boat was once owned by J.P.Morgan and awaits its new owner for a complete rebuild at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard.
A sister yacht, Alera was rebuilt here at the Boothbay Harbor Shipyard. The shipyard recieved numerous awards for the Alera. Here are some pictures of the beginning of the process to the completed yacht. Watch it under sail at the bottom of the Shipyard Log Time to go Sailing.
